Rivet Cloud Hosting Limited (“Rivet”, “we”, “us”) is committed to UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Roles & Contact

For our own billing, account, and communications data we act as data controller.
For data that customers choose to host or transmit using our Services, the customer acts as data controller and Rivet acts as a processor.

2. Data We Process

Account data: name, email, address, phone (optional).
Billing data: processed by payment providers; we don’t store full card details.
Technical data/logs: IPs, device info, security events.
Communications: support tickets and emails.

3. Purposes & Bases

Providing Services and billing (contract); security/fraud prevention and improvement (legitimate interests); legal/financial record‑keeping (legal obligation).

4. Sharing & Transfers

We use vetted processors for hosting, support, billing, and email. Examples include DirectAdmin, payment gateways, and our datacentre partners. International transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards.

5. Retention

Account/billing: life of account + 6 years.
Security logs: typically 14 days.
Backups: provided on a best‑efforts basis; customers remain responsible for their own backups.

6. Your Rights

You may exercise rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Contact gdpr@rivetcloudhosting.co.uk. You may complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).

7. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures including encryption in transit, restricted access, and regular patching.

8. Reseller & Sub‑Processing

Where you act as a Reseller, you are the data controller for your end‑users. Rivet acts as your processor/sub‑processor in delivering hosting. You must provide lawful instructions, maintain your own privacy notice, and comply with data protection law. We do not have a direct relationship with Reseller end‑users, and requests from them should be routed via the Reseller.
